How to: use brick red eyeshadow as lipstick

To match Monisha Jaising’s rebellious collection (reference: those runaway bride embellished sneakers to go with her designs), MAC’s director of make-up artistry, Mickey Contractor played around with make-up rules. He used lipstick as eyeshadow and eyeshadow as lipstick, reversing the two to create beautiful, dark drama.

He decodes the look and shows you how you can have fun with your beauty arsenal:

1. Prep your skin with Fix+, an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals.
2. Next apply the Studio Moisture Cream to create a smooth base.
3. Correct and Conceal using the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette
4. Apply Hush Cream Color Base on the eyelids for a sheer base followed by the Cherish Lipstick, a creamy nude to add shine.
5  Line the eyes with the Chromographic Eye Pencil NW25/NC30.
6. Use Lash No.7 and coat lashes with the Haute & Naughty Mascara for added drama.
7. Apply the Hush Cream Color Base on the cheeks followed by the Vegas Volt Lipstick
8. Line the lips with Teddy Lip Pencil and fill them in with Embark Eyeshadow –for a beautiful brick red that will give your lips a matte finish.
9.
Follow with a coat of MAC Clear Gloss to add moisture.
