Burgundy is the new black—at least that’s what one saw at Manish Malhotra’s Amazon India Couture Week 2015 show. The classic smoky eye got a shiny new makeover as MAC’s director of make-up artistry, Mickey Contractor turned to a shimmery maroon hue to create this variation. The finishing touch was a delicate feline streak and soft mascara swipes.
Here's how you can recreate the burgundy smoky eye from Malhotra’s finale:
1. Spritz the face with Fix+, then moisturise with Studio Moisture Cream to create a smooth base.
2. Correct and conceal using the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette.
3. Use the Shadester Sculpting Powder to contour the cheeks.
4. Use the Vanilla Pigment for a wash of colour, then apply Sincere Blush.
5. Apply Hush Cream Color Base on the eyelids for a sheer base.
6. To create a smoky eye use a combination of Sketch, Ricepaper and Carbon Eyeshadows, and create a thin cat-eye with Chromographic Pencil NW25/NC30.
7. Use Lash No.4 and 7 for added drama.
8. Line the lips with Soar Lip Pencil and fill them in with Mehr and Sandy B Lipstick.
