SJP launches wedding shoes

She may not have the best track record for on-screen weddings (being jilted at the altar while wearing Westwood couture is a difficult thing to get over), but Sarah Jessica Parker is bringing a little of her real life nous - both marital and shoe wisdom - to her footwear collection by launching bridal. The actress-turned-designer has added a range of satin pumps to her existing range, and - as expected from someone who has become famous for her interesting personal style - simple cream isn't the only option.

Adorned with jewels not unlike the blue Manolo Blahnik pumps worn by Carrie Bradshaw when she finally married her Mr Big, the shoes are created in a bouquet of colours - from pale green and plum to bright blue. A cream lace style bears a pale blue grosgrain ribbon on the heel, as the "something blue," creating a collection that's far from traditional, much like the teal green velvet shoes that she wore to her own wedding.

Parker, on the other hand, is feeling much more traditional now than when she married husband Matthew Broderick in 1997. She wore a black dress, which she later described as her "biggest fashion regret," and revealed that if she had her time over, the dress wouldn't defy convention quite so much.

"If I were getting married today, I'd likely wear cream, just to have that bridal experience," she told Martha Stewart Weddings. "Now I would want my dress to have an Oscar de la Renta feel, pockets below the waist, a very fitted bodice, a huge skirt, in taffeta or duchesse satin. That silhouette appeals to me because it's old-fashioned yet can look very modern."

The collection is available now from bloomingdales.com, nordstrom.com, and zapposcouture.com.
