After making it to the Pantone colour scheme (the first colour in the history of Pantone to be named after a character), Minions have now graced the fictional cover of Vogue UK—and it’s well apparent that they are having a 'moment' in fashion.
In context of the special occasion, International Vogue editor Suzy Menkes has made a mocumentary and interviewed designers Alber Elbaz of Lanvin, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Dolce&Gabbana, and milliner Stephen Jones, amongst others, about the influence of minions in their work.
"I hate yellow, but they made me love it!," says Elbaz—and the video continues in a vien of hilarity, covering topics of trends, language barriers and the i partnership of character Gru's tiny helpers in their work.
Right in time for the release of the Despicable Me spinoff on July 10, the cover takes to the funny bone of the fashion industry. The pricetag aptly reads 'Priceless', a true collector's item, if we may say so ourselves.
