How to: get Jacqueline Fernandez' classic cat-eye pairing

MAC

Channelling her inner Marilyn Monroe at the IIFA 2015 Awards was Jacqueline Fernandez—a luminous smooth complexion highlighted at just the right spots, that perfect winged eye and a bold scarlet lip—a foolproof look you can never tire of.

But each step to get this look involves precision—from knowing how much to highlight, proportioning that cat-eye to sculpting that red lip—and needs just a little bit of practise.

MAC's global senior artist, Sonic Sarwate decodes Jacqueline's timeless look in six easy steps:

1. For this naturally radiant complexion, use MAC Mineralize Moisture Fluid Foundation for a smooth base.

2. To highlight and contour, MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish in Natural is apt—although, choose a colour that's lighter than the skin to highlight, and two shades darker to contour.

3. Apply a light wash of MAC eyeshadow in Vanilla on the lid, and in Cork in the crease to create a soft contour on the eye.

4. For the winged eye, swipe MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, keeping it thinner on the inner corner and making it thicker towards the outer corner. Flick the liner up and out.

5. Curl up the lashes, coat it with multiple mascara layers and enhance the brows with a brow pencil.

6. Finish this look with an intense red lip, using MAC's lip pencil in Auburn, blending it inwards to create a light smudge all over the lips. Next, fill in with MAC Chilli for a beautiful brick-red finish. To increase the longevity of the lip colour and a smooth finish, apply MAC Prep+Prime before the lip pencil.
