Coping with Coldplay's Chris Martin's performance in Delhi

http://ift.tt/1KumHW6

It's a dream come true for any Coldplay fan when Chris Martin sets foot on the homeland—that is, if they get to see him perform live (we'll even settle for just seeing him in the flesh) This was a reality for the 100 odd patrons at Delhi's Summer House Café—including actress Frieda Pinto, musician Vishal Dadlani and the AIB crew—who met the artist last night and could not believe themselves (we heard first-hand). Martin sang hit favourites "Fix You" and "Paradise" and we can bet it sounded a lot sweeter than it does on our iPods. Looking back at the incident, we have made a few observations.

Social media can be cruel

Did we have to be assaulted by the fact that you had a great time while we watched re-runs on cable TV in other parts of the country? Was it absolutely crucial? Listen to those people who tell you to put your phone down once in a while.

Midweek partying has its benefits

Chances of you running into a world famous singer/songwriter are rather slim, but there will be wine to assauge all else.

Believe in your friends

They are not always pranking you. If someone calls you to say Chris Martin is four feet away from them and you happen to like his music, drop everything and go there. You'd feel quite daft the next morning if you didn't and sorry if that stings.

Go to the cool places

That's how Andy Warhol's Studio 54 became a thing and that's certainly how Summer House Café Delhi will be remembered for many years.

Hope for the best

That Chris Martin loved the energy and that Coldplay return to perform a multi-city tour in the country.
