Nimrat Kaur, Actor
She's already an international favourite, with movies such as The Lunchbox and Peddles screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and starred as an ISI agent in popular TV series Homeland. First-time judge at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2015, Nimrat Kaur takes her skincare very seriously. But what’s the secret to her velvetty olive skin and lustrous hair? The actress shares her beauty secrets with Vogue.
One thing we don’t know about you
I take forever to decide —from what I have to wear to when I have to leave my house. I almost always change my clothes just when I'm leaving.
Two beauty looks you wouldn't be caught dead in
A loud mouth and dramatic eyes. I don't think that does anybody any good on any day.
Three beauty products you cannot live without
My Kiehl's lip balm, all the treatments I take from Dr. Dinyar Boxwala and my eyelash curler.
Four steps in your skincare regime
I cleanse my face with Dr. Dinyar Boxwala’s face wash and apply a homemade almond cream. Whenever the weather permits, I try to use one capsule of Vitamin E on my face at night, it’s very sticky and gooey, but it's really amazing when you wake up in the morning
If you were a beauty product what would you be?
I'd be a glass of water. The best and quintessential.
If you had to invent a beauty product, what would you make?
I would make a hair product that's weather intelligent. I'm tired of being in humidity and the hair just having its own mind wherever you go. I would like that product to know if it's windy, or humid and then work accordingly.
One thing you want to steal from your mother’s beauty kit
Gosh! I want to steal her skin actually. I don't know how she looks the way she looks even now. I just want to have that skin somehow. I don't know if it's a product that does it for her but I think it's just her.
Your favorite '70s icon
That would be Waheeda Rehman.
