Joining the list of fashion-meets-beauty hybrids are Paris-based clothing and music label Maison Kitsuné joining hands with Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura this year. The two will get together to create a holiday make-up collection, as reported on WWD.
The 23-product make-up range along with two haircare products will strongly resonate the aesthetical unison of the two brands: Shu Uemura’s eastern influences merged with Kitsuné's strong Parisian roots. Considering the high quirk factor of both brands, we reckon the cosmetics are going to be as bright and joyful as Kitsuné’s collections, and the packaging, as eclectic and unique as Shu Uemura's.
Maison Kitsuné was co-founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc—former artistic director for Daft Punk and Masaya Kuroki—and was aimed at creating classic contemporary clothing influenced from Paris and Tokyo for men and women. The brand also recently expanded its accessories offering.
Off late, Shu Uemura, under its international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide partnered with Parisian jewellery designer Yaz Bukey, and has also tied-up with Karl Lagerfeld in the past.
The Shu Uemura Maison Kitsuné holiday collection will be available in stores from October to December 2015.
