When it comes to Bollywood, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has his clear favourites: Rani Mukerji, Sridevi and Vidya Balan, who love dressing in the designer's ensembles as much as he enjoys styling them.
But they're not the the only ladies in the industry with a soft spot for Mukherjee. Over the years, almost every star has been spotted draped in his creations. The look is now trademarked: regal saris of velvet and net, the most intricate gold embellishment, and more recently, striped blouses with slinky saris, and lehengas printed with the darkest of blooms.
While Sridevi has filled her wardrobe with saris drowning in sequins, Mukerji has always kept it easy and elegant in anarkalis and kurtas. As for Vidya Balan, the elbow-length sleeve sari blouse has been a constant.
Newer fans of the designer include Deepika Padukone (who can forget that sparkling red sari she wore to the IIFA Awards?), Kalki Koechlin (always picking unexpected silhouettes) and Kangana Ranaut.
