The soul(ful) diet

Nurture your soul with food that interacts with your mind. Celebrity nutritionist and fitness consultant Suman Agarwal charts your daily intake

At dawn: Start your day by cleansing your system with a glass of warm water with 2 tsps of rejuvenating honey and five-six drops of lemon.

Breakfast: A bowlful of upma, poha or porridge with curd packs in enough carbohydrates to release serotonin, the happy hormone.

Mid-morning: Sip on herbal, chamomile or mint tea to refresh your soul and activate your senses.

Lunch: Eat a balanced meal that includes rice, cooked lentils or pulses, cooked vegetables and fresh yogurt. This protein-rich lunch will activate you, releasing norepinephrine, which eases stress and keeps you alert.

High tea: A fistful of nuts may look small in quantity, but works in a major way to accentuate alertness.

Dinner: Go with a meal similar to the suggested lunch. Avoid large quantities of carbs or fats at night so as to avoid feeling sluggish

Bedtime: Enjoy a nourishing, fresh fruit before ending your day
