Culture fix: Your guide to a Vogue weekend

Every week Vogue gives you a cultural calendar comprising the best of music, art, photography, food and fashion that may just be your respite from the heat.

This week, don't miss English indie rock band alt-J's gig in Mumbai, an improv comedy workshop in Bengaluru and a week-long of sartorial events hosted by Square Loop + Bodice in the capital.

Shop at a vintage pop-up sale

Mumbai gets its first vintage pop-up store this weekend—and Saloon Vintage will take the opportunity to debut their collection here. Their hand-chosen 30 piece collection, sourced from around the country, is sure to make your summer wardrobe a prettier place.

Discover the crafts of India

Where else, but in Mumbai's Kala Ghoda district, will you get your arty fix? The Artisans' Centre is hosting a month-long series of short films on the theme of craft and design—starting with Crafted Tales by StoryLoom Films this weekend.

Watch a 19th century story unfold on stage

Adapted from Mirza Hadi Ruswa's Urdu novella Umrao Jaan Ada, the modern rendition entitled Aarambh's Umrao and directed by Hidayat Sami, re-tells the story of a courtesan by portraying her as the woman of today.

Wander around at a night market

Kitsch Mandi returns with its second edition this summer featuring workshops, food stalls, live art and music performances including SODA, Rajas, By the Riverside and Alkemy—and a flea market boasting several stalls from the country. Think starry skies and good vibes as the sun goes down this Saturday.

Learn to tickle someone's funny bone
