"Banknotes are the principal way the Bank of England engages with the British public," said Mark Carney, governor of the organisation. England's central bank has asked the public to choose seminal public figures to feature on the new 20 pound notes.
Acclaimed designer Alexander McQueen is in the running with satirical artist William Hogarth and filmmaker Richard Attenborough. McQueen, who ended his life in 2010, created some of the most iconic moments in fashion history. Despite his battle with depression, the designer was loved by his friends and co-workers and it’s no wonder that the public would want to hold on to his memory.
Could this be the new era of McQueen?
