BECKLEY’S EAST COAST EXCURSION: After closing the Los Angeles boutique bearing her last name in January and another in Las Vegas two years earlier, Melissa Beckley is back in the retail business. The retailer-turned-designer plans to unveil a pop-up shop at 85 Mercer St. in New York to sell the easy and polished sportswear from her eponymous contemporary brand. To be open for 11 days starting April 15, the store also will carry denim from Baldwin, jewelry by Tarin Thomas and handbags from Shaffer. Every single item shares the distinction of being made in the U.S. “We wanted things that were made in L.A. or made in New York,” Beckley said. “Making things in the U.S. is a big part of who I am and how I shop.”
