LuLu DK Teams With Moda Operandi on Fine Jewelry Tattoos

TATTOO SHOP: LuLu DK’s tattoos look like delicate gold and silver bracelets with gem stones and with different designs in each pack. There are also hand and ankle jewelry and necklaces that decorate the small of the back. LuLu DK, Lulu deKwiatkowski’s lifestyle Web site, features pillows, bedding and home decor in proprietary fabrics, along with jewelry tattoos. DeKwiatkowski is collaborating with luxury fashion site Moda Operandi and four fine-jewelry designers — Alison Lou, Daniela Villegas, Noor Fares and Paula Mendoza. The Moda tattoos replicate the fine jewelry and redefine the concept of accessorizing. “We were one of the companies that were in the forefront of tattoos last summer,” deKwiatkowski said. “We’ve done custom tattoos for BCBG, Nordstrom and Macy’s. We were taking existing pieces of jewelry and turning them into tattoos. They look like real jewelry. You can wear a jewel for a fraction of the cost.” The tattoos are priced between $22 and $28 and come in packages with two and four sheets. Made with Food and Drug Administration-approved natural inks, they last an average of four to six days and can be removed with baby oil or rubbing alcohol. “We’re launching LuLu DK tattoos for Anthropologie and Bloomingdale’s,” deKwiatkowski
