Jeffrey Rudes Presents His New Men’s Wear Collection
Jeffrey Rudes previewed the first collection for his new men’s wear brand, Jeffrey Rüdes, which will be available exclusively at the company’s SoHo flagship opening in July, as well as on the company’s Web site, which also launches that month. Rudes is aiming to dress the man who likes his tailored pieces with a hint of edge. Think Mick Jagger meets vintage Sean Connery in a James Bond movie, he said. The J Brand founder, who left the company last year, has adverted his attention from the jean to the jacket, which is the cornerstone of the new line. Canvassed jackets — single and double-breasted blazers with peak and notch lapels and a shawl-collar style — will be available each season along with classic men’s shirts made from silk, jersey or cotton. Tailored coats, shearling outerwear and slim-cut leather jackets round out the offering. Although it’s not a huge part of the collection, Rudes couldn’t stay away from the denim category. Three styles of slim-cut jeans are the only bottoms in the line. Designed in Italy, this collection has a luxury price point. Shirts start at $360 and go up to $550; jackets range from $1,600 to $2,200; outerwear is priced between $2,400
