European Stock Markets Mostly Higher

LONDON — European stock markets were on the upswing in mid-morning trading on Monday, with the exception of the FTSE 100 in London, which fell 0.1 percent to 7,052.36. The DAX in Frankfurt advanced 1.4 percent to 11,850.45, followed by the CAC 40 in Paris, 0.7 percent to 5,179.03, and the FTSE MIB in Milan, 0.5 percent to 23,150.71. The euro traded at $1.08, while the pound fetched $1.50 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.05 at 11:20 a.m. CET. Retail and luxury stocks were uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Luxottica Group, 1.7 percent to 60.15 euros; Mulberry Group, 1.4 percent to 9.28 pounds; Moncler, 1.32 percent to 16.07 euros, and Debenhams, 1.7 percent to 0.89 pounds. Among the stocks that lost the most ground were Asos.com, 1.7 percent to 39.23 pounds; Safilo Group, 2.1 percent to 13.82 euros, and Koovs.com, 1.3 percent to 0.74 pounds.
