Behind the scenes with Vogue Beauty Awards 2015 judges

Every year, the chosen ones who make the jury of the Vogue Beauty Awards lend their unmatched expertise to pick the finest in the beauty business for our readers. For the sixth edition, the expert judges put on their pro caps to curate the 'best of' list from a plethora of over 1,000 products. And this how it all went down...

All about that scrunch
How much scrunch is too much? Greek hair guru Gabriel Georgiou works his magic fingers to decode mousse textures on Vogue's beauty intern, Zahra.

New-age ninjas
Jelly-based formulas, exotic herbs and spices or minerals from the Dead Sea— it's the back of the bottle that intrigues dermatologist Dr Malavika Kohli.

Less is more
Subtly defined eyes, rosy-nude lips and a barely-there flush— Vogue editor Priya Tanna is a champion of make-up minimalism. When it comes to eye pencils, for her brown is the new black.

Picture perfect
To choose the best in beauty, actor Nimrat Kaur steps out in her best beauty avatar: soft tousled waves and a sultry summer flush.

Shine on
Gloss and glamour make entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna's top choices, as she looks for that one perfect lipgloss that will see her from boardroom to Bollywood bash.

Pro swipe
Not one to ignore details, make-up maestro Mickey Contractor speculates between matte and luminous textures through his proficient magnifying mind.

Scent of a woman
The fresh burst of citrus, the heady aroma of jasmine—for jewellery designer Neelam Kothari, fragrance notes have the power to transport you into a world of memories.

Glued to nude
Sticking to her staple hue, interior decorator Simone Arora is drawn towards the soft, earthy palette of nudes and browns. Her idea of a perfect blush—natural, non-shimmery with a hint of sheer colour.

Eye spy
A tough cookie to impress, Vogue's beauty editor Nidhi Sharma takes her skincare very seriously. Is it the velvety soft texture or the lightweight formula of the eye cream that's managed to amaze her? You'll have to wait to find out.

Red alert
Picking the right red for your skin tone can be tricky. Not for actor Waluscha De Sousa—she handpicks the one for her amongst an army of crimsons to match her peaches-and-cream complexion.

Until next time
Snapped just before they bid goodbye, Vogue beauty editor Nidhi Sharma presented celebrity hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou a personalised thank-you note along with the sparkly Moët.

Glittering surprise
After all that meticulous judging, our jury deserves a bottle of bubbly. As a thank-you gift, we present them with Moët, courtesy Moët & Chandon.
