Fabergé Goes Digital for Harrods

FABERGÉ’S GETS FUTURISTIC: Fabergé is updating its ornate eggs for the digital era at Harrods this month. To celebrate its pop-up boutique at the Knightsbridge department store, which bowed March 3, the jeweler has created a giant, digitally-decorated egg, which is displayed across four of Harrods’ Brompton Road windows. Using projection mapping technology, shoppers in the store can customize the digital patterns that appear on the egg, which range from Fabergé’s detailed Impératrice design set with green tsavorites, to its Emotion design, covered in pavéd diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and rubies. The display marks Fabergé opening a pop-up Fabergé Egg Bar on the store’s ground floor, which carries the house’s egg pendants and charms, along with new rings from its Devotion collection. The bar will also offer consultations on private commissions and personalized orders. And ahead of the Easter holidays, Harrods has also set up a hunt for Fabergé’s jeweled eggs within the department store. Harrods Rewards card holders who find various giant Fabergé eggs displayed around the store will be able to enter a draw to win one three Fabergé jeweled pendants, which are together worth 16,000 pounds, or around $24,500. The egg bar will remain open through March 28,
