Meredith Names Millennial Strategist

Meredith Corp. has tapped Kim Martin as chief strategy officer, a role that will help the company target more Millennial women for continued growth. Most recently, Martin served as president and general manager of WE TV for nine years. There, she oversaw all aspects of the network, including marketing, programming, production, scheduling, digital media and new business opportunities. At Meredith, she will focus on video content creation targeting younger female consumers, and expand the company’s strategy in video across all of its media platforms. The executive, who will start on April 13 and report to chairman and chief executive Steve Lacy, spent five years with WE’s parent company Rainbow Media, where she eventually became executive vice president of distribution and affiliate marketing. In that role, she was responsible for the distribution and marketing of all the company’s networks, including AMC, Fuse, IFC and WE. Prior to joining AMC Networks, Martin spent ten years with Discovery Networks, rising to Senior Vice President of Affiliate Sales. “Given my background, I’m particularly enthusiastic about the video content creation opportunities for the Meredith brands,” Martin offered.
