LEOHT TARGETS KICKSTARTER: One-year-old wearable technology fashion start-up Leoht is targeting the Kickstarter crowd today to fund the production of its first women’s tote bag. Measuring 11 inches high, 16.2 inches wide and 6.75 inches deep, with a handle drop of 7.5 inches, the leather tote is priced at $350. Tech features include a rechargeable battery, two built-in USB ports for multicharging, built-in interior LED lighting, hidden compartment for valuables, wireless recharging via a custom charging plate and an external user interface panel featuring power button, battery indicator and external micro USB port for on-the-go charging. Carnise McIntosh, founder and chief executive officer, said, “This is one of three bags in the collection for fall 2016, and it’s the most universal one. The Kickstarter campaign lasts for about 30 to 35 days, and then moves to our Web site after that campaign ends.” There are different investment tiers, and those who contribute at least $175 receive the tote bag earlier and at a discount.
