Rebecca Taylor never designed swimwear, but always felt there was something lacking in the market. Until she saw Giejo’s mix-and-match bikini tops and bottoms. Taylor got together with Giejo’s creator, Gabby Sabharwal and the two have collaborated on a swimwear capsule, Rebecca Taylor X Giejo Swim, available in May in Taylor’s stores and rebeccataylor.com. Giejo is known for its figure-flattering silhouettes and fashion-forward prints. Taylor, who has a modern, feminine aesthetic, created ivory and blush paisley patterns, bold leopard prints and fuchsia florals inspired by dresses her mother wore in the Seventies for four of Sabharwal’s bikini styles. Each print is available in two colorways. The collection will retail for $100 to $125 per piece. “I love the idea behind interchangeable and multifunctional swim pieces that you can customize to your body type,” Taylor said. “When designing, my customer is always top of mind and I wanted to offer a capsule collection that she can have fun with while still feeling confident.
