American Eagle Outfitters Inc. has signed a license agreement with Eurofashion Limitada to expand into Chile and Peru. The first stores in Chile are expected to open in the third quarter of 2015 and in Peru in early 2016. The agreement with Eurofashion is for American Eagle Outfitters stores, with offerings to include the American Eagle brand and Aerie assortments. Simon Nankervis, executive vice president for global commercial business, said, “We believe our heritage of casual American style will resonate strongly in these dynamic markets.” The retailer already has a presence in South America, through a licensing arrangement in Columbia, Panama and the Caribbean, as well as company-owned stores in Mexico. The retailer has 102 licensed stores in 17 countries globally. It plans to open 40 licensed stores this year.
