Jean Paul Gaultier Teams Up with Japan’s Seven and i

Jean Paul Gaultier is teaming up with Japanese retail giant Seven and i Holdings Co., Ltd to design a new collection to sell at Seven and i’s Sogo and Seibu department stores as well as selected Ito Yokado stores and Seven and i’s new online retail channel, WWD has learned. The initiative will span just two seasons, fall-winter 2015 and spring-summer 2016. The fall collection will debut at stores on Oct. 1. It is understood that Gaultier will be the first designer to collaborate with the retail giant on the launch of a new Seven and i brand called “Sept Premières”. Gaultier’s capsule collection will consist of 50 pieces of women’s wear. Beyond Seibu and Sogo, Seven and i owns the 7-Eleven convenience store chain and runs the Barneys Japan department stores through a license with Barneys New York.
