360Cashmere Looking to Open New York Location

LUXE BASICS: Knitwear producer 360Cashmere is officially open for business with New York being eyed for a second storefront sometime this year. The East Coast presence would be a follow-up to the Santa Monica, Calif.-based knitwear maker’s first outpost, which opened at the start of the month in the Malibu Lumber Yard shopping center in Malibu. It’s the latest example of a manufacturer testing the waters of direct-to-consumer as they look for ways to grow sales and show breadth of product assortment. The new store offers customers a chance to “really get a feel of the 360 lifestyle and brand,” founder and president Bruce Gifford said. Additional stores after New York are up for consideration, although a timetable and specific locations have not been determined. The company’s line of sweaters, tanks and other casual pieces are sold in stores such as Intermix, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve Clothing and Shopbop. The newest collection, named Skull Cashmere, launched in 2013. Both lines are sold in the Malibu Lumber Yard store.
