Stella McCartney's annual resort presentation is a much sought-after event on the social calendar. Essentially a rooftop party with performers, select press, friends in models and an inventory of the new season’s lust list—it's tough to top off, but McCartney manages to make it memorable each year.
Her theme this year was 'Cuba', bearing which in mind there were chocolate cigars, street walkers , Fidel Castro and Che Guevara impersonators—a small slice of what Cuba looks like to the western world.
The first signs of welcoming summer a la Stella were the multi-coloured ribbons while the models walked around in floaty trapeze dresses. The collection progressed to floral prints, shirtdresses and tailoring. Not to mention, the quirky accessories will be talking pieces for years to come.
Bloggers Leandra Medine, Hanneli Mustaparta, actor Liv Tyler, and model Cara Delevingne were special guests of the designer. McCartney sure knows how to usher in the sunny days in the city and The Elizabeth Street garden seems like a good place to start.
