There’s something quite magical about a mask, about the way it lends the mysterious kind of appeal, about the way it conceals and then reveals, just like a mirror that you can’t never fully trust. Almost as magical as Pien Ledeboer’s game of hide and seek, lensed mostly in black and white by Kim Rooijackers, as if to further deepen the dark fantasy that’s been so carefully styled by Sharda Sewtahal.
